About to Hatch - Baby Shower Card

Have you noticed it seems everywhere you turn these days someone is having a baby, to me there is nothing so wonderful as another life being created.

My good friend Kim (always Kimmie to me) asked me if I would like to create a baby shower invitations for her sister-in-law Nicole who is having her second child in a few months. Scott and Nicole are a wonderful couple who I have done work for in the past for their business. And they have been so kind as to refer me to brides who are looking for one-of-a-kind wedding invitations. So as you guessed I was only to happy to be a small part of this wonderful celebration.

You all know Scott, he is a fantastic photographer not only for weddings but he also does expecting moms and little ones, each picture tells a story which makes his work truly one-a-kind. You can see Scott's fantastic work here.

As you guessed the colour they are having a boy and though this card is simple it speaks volumes. Congratulations you two, may your life be filled with the joy that you bring to others.

Wedding Invitation Design No. 2

This one has to be my favorite. I love the lack of colour and elegance, this particular design has a hidden uniqueness that you will have to attend the workshop to see. The contrast between Wedding Invitation One and Two is very obvious allowing you to show the versatility of Stampin' Up's products. Simple Elegance describes this design.

(Featured in the Occasions Mini Catalogue January 5 - April 30. I am sure this stamp set will be one of the new sets featured in the upcoming Idea Book and Catalogue 2010-2011.

Farewell My Friend - Using Vintage Vogue

Farewell Annette, we'll miss your smiling face red cheeks and laughter at lunch.

I love the new stamp set Vintage Vogue from Stampin' Up, even better they are now available for clear blocks. There is much debate wood mount vs clear mount, I have no preference other than the containers are much smaller and the stamps are cheaper. I have been using clear mount stamps for awhile now and love the quality so rubber of clear mount either is great by me.

I made this card for Annette one of my staff who is leaving her last day is Friday and I am going to miss her very much. She is a fantastic person who works very hard both at her job and her family. She never complains, and is devoted to her two boys and her husband. I will miss her as will the rest of our group, she was a vital part of our team and it will not be the same without her. Thank you Annette for all your hard work over the past few years, you are truly a good friend.

For this card I used the Vintage Vogue set along with the jumbo Very Vintage all of which are in the NEW Occasions Mini Catalogue.

Enjoy!

SNEAK PEEK NO. 4 Demonstrator 2010 Wedding Invitation Workshop

Wedding Invitation Design No. 4

When I was first sent this stamp set as one of the two sets that I was asked to use for my article in Stampin' Success August 2009 seen here, I didn't know what I was going to do. But since then I have used this for two weddings, thank you cards.
I love its simple, graceful, elegant lines. It screams for you to use simple cream colours, like off whites, beige's etc. but I wanted to make it bold and bright! By doing so I have shown another way it can be used that is different then what was featured in August 2009 Stampin' Success and the Idea book and Catalogue. Once again showing the versatility of Stampin' Ups stamps, paper and inks.

Featured Stamp Set: Wedding Sweet, Sweet Swirls

Featured Colours: Whisper White, Lavender Lace, Versamark TM and Certainly Celery

More Misc Pics - Almost 4 Months in Our New Home

I like to call this photo, "Sunshine from the Front Window" everyday the sunrises and streams in and lights up the living room. Holly just loves to have her picture taken, she makes a great subject, I think I took 10 pictures until I got this one but it was worth the wait. I can feel the heat of the sun on her face, she just loves the front window she can enjoy a quick snooze and be nosy which is one of her other pastimes.

Its hard to believe that we are almost our 4th month in our new house and as we settle in I am decorating each room as I go. I can actually say that I am happy with how things have turned out. When we initially picked out this couch set I am sure my husband was wondering what I was thinking. Each time I bought or picked something out I don't think he understood but I had an image in my head and I am very pleased at the end result.

More Decorating with Stampin Ups Definitley Decorative

Just a short post today. Still unpacking and find more things to do and more decorating. When Stampin' Up first came out with Decore Elements now known as Definitely Decorative my first purchase was the Long-Stem Silhouette but have never used it. Well we have to bathrooms in our new house and I have finally used it and I simply love it. Before the bathroom was nice, nothing special but know I find it pops, and gives it more depth. What do you think?

We also did our family room see here.

I also bought the "Laundry" elements and added it over the sink in my laundry room and I just love its whimsical'ness.

If you are not familiar with our Definitely Decorative you can see it here.

Asian Feel - Sending Birthday Wishes

Lov'n the Blues

Each year my cousin and I get together around the time of her birthday (Dec. 17) to do some Xmas shopping, catch up and most of all celebrate her birthday. Its a day thing, we get together in the downtown area of Ottawa, Ontario Canada here do some window shopping, Xmas shopping and lunch. Here is the card that I created for her birthday simple and clean. Lately I have been using more and more plain card stock for the background either Whisper White and Very Vanilla as a base and adding coloured card stock to it which helps keep things clean and simple.

For this project I used all Stampin' Up products excluding the stamp set.

NEW SPIN - "So Versatile" - So Very Wedding

Fuchsia and Black Hot New Colours for Weddings

Last March using So Versatile Stamp Set from last years Occasions Mini Catalogue I created a very simple wedding invitation (see here) using Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. The combination of these colours and the So Versatile Stamp Set all from Stampin' Up are so calming yet very elegant.

Below is a different spin on the same design using very different colours that I had to share. This colour combination was perfect for Ray and Carolyn Wedding and gave them the punch of colour that they were looking for and with a little glitter some sparkle that every wedding needs. This invitation has a pocked in the back and ships in a standard business envelope ensuring shipping costs are at a minimum.

All products from Stampin' Up excluding ribbon.

Invitation included, reply card and other events plus map.

Custom Thank you card which enclosed a photo of the couple as a memory for their guests.

FRIDAY PHOTO'S - Going to the Dogs...

Throw Me a Bone...

Happy Friday everyone! Today's post is a happy one. Over the holidays I took some pictures of our fur kids and thought I would share these with you.

Holly is a fawn pug, who is so spoiled rotten but how can you not with a face like that. Pug's have this funny way of turning there heads from side to side when you talk to them as if they really are understanding you. Holly's favorite thing is to eat, lick Gadgets face and cuddle with JC. She is a big snuggler and loves to stretch out and sleep away the hours. She loves to have her picture taken as you can see, and loves to have her back scratched even more. Everyone has to be her friend and she actually likes to watch TV and often barks at the animals. Trust me its very funny.

Here are a few pic of the "princess" as we like to call her...

Who me?

Don't disturb me.

At her best all stretched out and liven the good life.

Gadget is our old man. He is a black pug, his favorite pastime, is to sleep, lick Holly's face for extra snacks. He loves to put Holly in her place, chasing her often. Unlike Holly Gadget doesn't like to snuggle or be hugged, he will put up with it but is very disgusted after. Gadget reminds me of Winston Churchill with out the cigar, his little round face and wrinkles. He often likes to eat gum, and other such things, and when we see him chewing we just say "spit it out" and it drops out from that hidden spot in his mouth. Gadget is like a little heater, he loves to sleep under the covers in your back and he snores like a train coming at you at 400 miles per hour. Often we will mute the TV and listen to see who is snoring more him or Holly.

If you are looking to buy a dog and want one that is good with children and excellent personality than a pug is for you. But make sure you buy from a reputable breeder, as there are dogs being passed off as pugs but you can usually pick out the crossbred ones.

Always so serious.
