NOEL - Coaster Gift Using Jolly Holiday - Workshop

I love going through my studio cupboards and finding something that I haven't used in awhile and rediscovering how wonderfully fun it is to use. For this project it was coasters, yes good old coasters that are unprinted unspoiled waiting for me to turn into something beautiful, or maybe I should say I think is beautiful.

For this workshop everything is included already cut and ready to assemble. All you really need is your adhesive. This project takes a little longer and probably a little more advance but with everything already cut and with me there to help you will breeze right through it.

Front view: This is what it looks like closed if you are going to give it as a gift or storing. Isn't it cute. Size 4 x 4.

Back view: I'm all about the details and with this little tag you can sign it and date it before giving it as a gift if you want.

Open view: Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen and it is all made with coasters, paper and some love.

Close up of the front showing the details and the bling!

Got to have bling inside too...

Another close-up view.

The $20 fee includes all the supplies necessary (except for your adhesive) to make this project. Please bring your own favorite adhesive all others will be supplied. Spend $50 CAN before taxes and get the class for $10.

The won.der [wuhn-der] - Of Nature...

won.der [wuhn-der] - verb (used without object) to be filled with admiration, amazement, or awe; marvel (often fol. by at):

Nature is amazing. I often wonder how each little thing on earth was created how each has purpose whether big or small. How is it an ant can carry a leaf 25 times its size, or how a bee can create a honeycomb of perfection. Why even our little birds growing so quickly in there little nest are almost ready to fly and it hasn't even been a month. How they learn to fly without any real lessons?

I love everything about nature and when I saw this line of paper, stamps and rub-ons I fell in love and had to get it. Even better I love the fact that Stampin' Up products work so well with other products. Its just another reason why I use Stampin' Up products, they interchange with so many other products you just can't go wrong.

For this project I matched Early Espresso textured card stock, satin ribbon and inks along with our Antique Brads and came up with this fantastic layout.

Elegant Soiree DS (Designer Series) Paper from Stampin' Up

Hello Monday...

Wow hard to believe that another weekend has gone by and we are at the beginning of another week. Today I have a done a scrap booking page using our DS (Designer Series) paper Elegant Soiree, our textured card stock Early Espresso and Baja Breeze.

I haven't yet picked a photo to go with this one but I was inspired by the beautiful patterned paper and the other accessories designed to work with this beautiful paper.

I also like to add my own personal message or find a poem or quote that best describes what I am feeling. For this page I will be adding one of own wedding pictures.

We'll find a little wedding chapel
add pair of rings and a  preacher too.
underneath the neon steeple
we'll take a gamble and say "I do".

I love making paper flowers and using DS paper is perfect for making flowers giving texture and shape to each one. All you need is to add a few Antique Brads add a few Basic Pearls and your done.

Using the stamp set Always Elegant and VersaMarker I created this pattern on the textured paper.

Bringing Back Memories from Childhood Using Sweet Snowglobe

I always find it funny when seeing something that reminds me of the "good old days". To be honest I don't think of myself as getting close to 50, is that considered middle aged? If you asked me when I was twenty if I would ever have these "good old day" memories I would have laughed, I mean my whole life was ahead of me, I lived for the moment, I was young with no life experiences. And if you said to me today I could go back in time I frankly would say no thank you, I like where I am in my life today.

Stampin Up! is certainly bring back those memories these days. Starting with the DS paper Candy Cane Christmas. I remember when I was a little girl I would go bowling with my dad on Friday nights (he is still doing this today in fact he was bowling tonight, a long way from last April and his brain tumor). I would pack my little play case, all my dolls and enjoy an evening with him watching him bowl and me playing with dolls. Such a wonderful memory.

At the bowling alley there was an ice cream machine decorated with a very similar design as our DS paper including the colours. I remember how it worked and it even lite up and the fact that it looked like a snow globe showing the items inside, it was from 70's and I thought it was so cool, not like today's machines but cool and retro.

Isn't it odd how even the simple things remind you of other times.

So in memory of my youth, I celebrate this memory of my childhood in a simple card.

A Cute Christmas Gift Box

Weekends Should Be a Time to Create

Don't you just love the weekends, its a time to catch up on everything that you don't get done during the week. Frankly I love to get all those jobs that I have to do done during the week so I don't have to waste time doing it on the weekend. You know what I mean, laundry, cooking, cleaning etc. I would rather spend my weekends creating, playing in my studio than doing laundry or anything else.

One of the things I am planning is a packaging workshop. Every year at work we do a cookie exchange and I always like to encourage the group to package things nice and pretty so that for those who are going to be giving away as gifts they are ready to go.

Packaging is so important, no matter what you are giving, it is simple to do and just makes what ever you made that much better. Over the next few weeks I will be posting different types of ways that you can do this, all using Stampin Up products. From the chocolate box below, to Kraft sandwich bags, to cello to little pizza boxes. The ideas are endless.

Chocolate Box - holds all types of chocolates such as nuggets, or instead of sweets why not add some tissue paper, (remember you can stamp on anything) and use it to hold jewelry or even a gift card.

Look for more holiday packaging using Stampin Up products.

Contempo Christmas Scrapbook Page

Building a Scrap Booking Page One Size at a Time

So I am trying to be a good blogger and have been working on so many projects I had to schedule one day on the weekend just for a photo shoot. I always wanted to create a progressive scrapbook page but never had the time to do this until last weekend. I have done many 12 x 12 scrapbook pages and decided to change it up. I starting by building a 6 x 6 to a 11 x 8.5 to a 12 x 12 page. Using the Contempo Christmas stamp and the Contempo Wheel from Stampin' Up I began my little adventure.

6 x 6 Page with a small area for a 4 x 6 photo.

11 x 8.5 page with message, trees, and ribbon and of course some bling! Before adding the 6 x 6.

I love adding my own messages, poems or quote to my pages it makes it more personal, I generate these on the computer, print and cut.

11 x 8.5 with 6 x 6 attached looks pretty good just with this.

Close-up showing those beautiful trees and their bling.

12 x 12 page before adding the 11 x 8.5 and 6 x 6 page, almost done.

Close-up showing the cute little squares, which you could add photo's or not but the option is there.

The finished product looking pretty nice!

Just Can't Get Enough Christmas Stamps!

Every year I tell myself the same thing, "no more Xmas stamps you have enough" and then I go to either a workshop or do a swap and see a card made and that's it I just have to have it.

If you are to buy only one stamp set (like that's possible for me) I would say this is the one. I love the clean lines the look and feel of this stamp. It is a stamp set that can be used over and over again and will never age. It is what it is contemporary. Absolutely one of my favorites from this years Stampin' Up catalogue. I have done to versions of this card, I have cased this one but can't remember where, but have changed the design to a different format, for both a horizontal and vertical style, you decided which is better.
